The newly launched 7โณ Official Raspberry Pi Display 2 with Capacitive Touchscreen allows users to build fully integrated, all-in-one projects such as tablets, infotainment systems, and embedded interfaces.
This 720ร1280 touchscreen display connects through an adapter board that manages both power and signal conversion. Only two connections are needed: a power connection from the Raspberry Piโs GPIO pins and a ribbon cable linked to the DSI port available on all Raspberry Pi models. Touchscreen drivers with support for five-finger touch and an on-screen keyboard are included in the latest Raspberry Pi OS, offering complete control without needing a physical keyboard or mouse.
Touch Display 2 is powered directly by your Raspberry Pi and is compatible with all Raspberry Pi boards from the Raspberry Pi 1B+ onward, except the Raspberry Pi Zero series, which lack a DSI port. The display mounts securely to the Raspberry Pi using four screws and comes with power and data cables that support both standard and mini FPC connectors. Unlike the previous generation, this model integrates the display driver PCB into the enclosure, resulting in a slimmer, more streamlined design.
As with the original model, Touch Display 2 is fully supported by Raspberry Pi OS, including five-finger touch functionality and an on-screen keyboard. While the panelโs native resolution is 720ร1280 in portrait orientation, Raspberry Pi OS enables screen rotation for users who prefer landscape mode.
Note: The Raspberry Pi board shown in images is not included.
