The Raspberry Pi Zero Wireless WH (Pre-Soldered Header) is now available! This compact, ultra-affordable version of the Raspberry Pi measures just 65mm x 30mm, making it ideal for embedded systems, wearables, prototyping, and any small-scale DIY electronics project. The Zero Wireless WH includes onboard WiFi and Bluetooth, offering seamless connectivity right out of the box.
Powered by the BCM2835 chipset, overclocked to 1GHz, and equipped with 512MB of RAM, the Raspberry Pi Zero WH delivers impressive performance for its size. It supports 1080p HD video output and features the same 40-pin GPIO layout as the Raspberry Pi 2/B+/A+. With its simplified design and fewer onboard connectors, the Pi Zero consumes only around 140mA at 5V.
While more compact than its full-size counterparts, the Pi Zero WH includes pre-soldered GPIO headers, making it perfect for users without a soldering iron or those who prefer a ready-to-use setup. Note that it does not include a DSI port, Ethernet jack, analog audio output, or full-size USB ports. Instead, it provides a micro-USB power port, a micro-USB OTG port for peripherals, and a mini HDMI port for video output.
What Can You Do with the Zero WH?
Practically anything! Its tiny size makes it perfect for space-constrained projects. While some hobbyists solder wires directly to the board, many applications benefit from the pre-installed GPIO header—especially when using tools like the GPIO expander with Debian Stretch on a PC or Mac.
The Pi Zero WH is fully compatible with all HAT boards, thanks to its standard 40-pin GPIO.
